Public Notice Variance Request: TOWN OF GIBRALTAR NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERSREGARDING VARIANCE APPLICATION #Z-26-09879392 COTTAGE ROW ROAD NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to property owners within 300 feet of PIN 014-02-29312714, located at 9392 Cottage Row Road, that the Gibraltar Plan Commission will consider a request for a variance at its meeting on: Monday, September 28, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Gibraltar Town Center 4097 Highway 42 Fish Creek, Wisconsin 54212 Mark Lebotte, on behalf of the David J. Sterner Trust, is requesting a variance from Section 3.02(3)(a) of the Door County Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, which requires principal structures on lots located in the Small Estate Residential (SE) zoning district to be located 20 feet from side lot lines. The applicant proposes a new two-story house with an attached garage to be located as close as 6′-6″ from a side lot line. Property owners within 300 feet of the subject parcel are encouraged to attend the meeting and may offer input regarding the request. The Gibraltar Plan Commission will make its recommendation to the Gibraltar Town Board. The Town Board will consider the matter at its October 7, 2026 regular monthly meeting and may recommend support or denial of the application to the Door County Board of Adjustment. The Door County Board of Adjustment will hold a separate public hearing at a later date. Notice of that hearing will be provided separately by the Door County Land Use Services Department. Any correspondence submitted to the Town Office regarding this matter will be forwarded to the Gibraltar Plan Commission and Gibraltar Town Board. Correspondence submitted to the Town is not forwarded to the Door County Board of Adjustment. UW-Oshkosh Fall 2020 Door County Private Well Monitoring Program — Registration Ends Friday

The deadline for Door County residents to participate in UW-Oshkosh’s Fall 2020 Door County Private Well Monitoring program is this Friday, September 11. 

The goal of this study, conducted by the University of WI Oshkosh Environmental Research and Innovation Center (ERIC), is to provide education about the importance of testing your well water as well as build a database of groundwater quality data in Door County.

The testing parameters included in the study are bacteria (Total coliforms/E. coli (quantification)) and Nitrate for a discounted cost of $30. Participants will also have the option to add Arsenic and Cumulative tests (pH, hardness, alkalinity and iron) for an additional $25.
