Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Door County will be hosting two FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events in November! Friday, November 6, 2026 | 2:00–4:00 p.m.Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Station, 2258 Mill Road, Sister Bay Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 9:00–11:00 a.m.Door County Highway Department, 1001 S. Duluth Avenue, Sturgeon Bay Door County residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste, including old gasoline, household cleaners, pesticides, oil-based paints, and other chemicals. Please see the attached flyer for a complete list of accepted materials, prohibited items, and drop-off instructions.

National Guard COVID-19 Testing Sites Resume through March 8

The Wisconsin National Guard resumed weekly COVID-19 community testing this month. Door County is partnering with the Wisconsin National Guard to offer free COVID-19 testing for the community every Monday through March 8, 2021, and will alternate between a northern testing site in Sister Bay and a central testing site in Sturgeon Bay. Testing sites are open from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Pre-registration at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov is encouraged, but not required. As a reminder, this is a drive-thru testing site and those getting tested must remain inside their vehicles. Testing will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis and will not be operating outside of the scheduled times.
