State of Emergency Declared: State of Emergency Declared – Blizzard ElsaDue to the severe conditions created by Blizzard Elsa, the Town of Gibraltar has declared a State of Emergency. Emergency response capabilities are currently severely limited due to extreme snowfall, drifting, and blocked roadways.Residents are strongly urged to shelter in place and stay home due to life-threatening travel conditions. This will allow highway crews to safely resume operations when conditions allow and help emergency responders reach those who truly need assistance.Emergency responders and highway crews are working to address conditions as they are able; however, heavy snow, drifting, and blocked roads may significantly delay response times.Staying off the roads will help ensure emergency services can respond where they are needed most.If you are experiencing an emergency and need assistance, please dial 9-1-1.Please continue to monitor local updates and take all necessary precautions to stay safe during this storm
