PSC Broadband Expansion Grant: Call for Community Letters of Support: We need your help! The Town of Gibraltar has an opportunity to partner with Charter Communication to obtain a grant from the state Public Service Commission (PSC) to assist in funding the construction of broadband expansion in the Town. The state broadband grant program has been in existence since 2014. Since then, the state has awarded $44 million in grants to 210 projects. The PSC is making another investment of $24 million in grant funding to public/private partnerships willing to extend broadband service to unserved and underserved areas of the state. If awarded to Gibraltar, this grant of over $2 million would allow broadband expansion to over 224 homes, businesses and lots within our community (see map below). Broadband Expansion Map (Yellow = Areas currently served; Green = Grant expansion area) In an effort to submit the strongest grant application possible, the Town is reaching out to community members, businesses and organizations for letters of support for this project. Town Plans

Comprehensive planning is a process that determines community goals and aspirations in terms of community development. The Town of Gibraltar 20-Year Comprehensive Plan acts as the foundation for all land use decisions, defines the community’s vision, provides guidelines for development, and establishes goals and objectives for the next several years.

Town of Gibraltar 20-Year Comprehensive Plan

With increased tourism and a growing local population, there has been an increase in traffic and congestion, particularly in Fish Creek and around Peninsula State Park. This has created a need for bicycle and pedestrian specific planning and facilities to create a safer environment for all road users. This plan will guide the development of shared‐use paths, provide design guidelines and policies, and highlight funding opportunities for the Town to pursue.

The purpose of the Plan is to identify enhancements to Fish Creek’s waterfront areas with a focus on the
Town Dock, boat launches, Town Beach, and Fish Creek.
